Bald Spots, Receding Hairlines, Losing Hair – It’s All Scary!
The body changes a lot as we get older, but should you notice bald spots, or a receding hairline, or more hair clogging up the shower than used to, then it is not surprising that you are panicking a little. Losing hair is something that we all take very seriously, and with good reason. One of the first things that you should do is check in with your doctor to find out if there is a medical reason that is causing this hairloss issue for you.
An under active thyroid can cause hair loss, and of course there are other conditions that have hair loss as a symptom too. So make that call and get checked by your doctor.
Should you have already seen your doctor about this and been given a clean bill of health, then consider your family members, and whether they have receding hairlines, or have gone bald early, as your problem may be partially caused by family genetics, and age plays a role as well. Your genetic makeup does make hair loss harder to deal with, but the good news is that there are plenty of products on the market for you to try, some of which get great results for some people. However, not every products work well for everyone, and you may have to try several before finding one that suits you. This happens because we all react differently to the same things. Some foods we love, while others cause us allergic reactions, we all have different stress levels and respond differently to viruses, bacteria, and so on.
One advantage of this is that there is always hope that something else will work better. There is always ongoing research into hair loss and recently this has shown that in men over the age of 25, there is an excess of the hormone DHT. This hormone has been found to be responsible for hair loss, and for the thinning of hair as we age.
Further research suggests that by lowering the production of this hormone by using hormone blockers, Your hair loss will stop, which is great if this works for you. Naturally you need to talk about this with your medical professional to discover if your levels of DHT are too high, and whether the hormone blocker has side effects of which you should be aware.
And should this not help your Receding hairline, then just wait a little while, and there will be another new product on the market aimed at stopping bald spots, hair loss and receding hairlines.
